About Me
Hi, I'm Madeleine.
I'm a 23-year-old journalist from the North East of England. I will graduate from The University of Sheffield in 2025 with an NCTJ and journalism degree. I am multilingual, fluent in Spanish and have a beginner's ability in British Sign Language and Italian.
I have a working-class background and understand the importance of hearing from marginalised communities.
I have written articles featured in The Metro, The Independent, The Sun, The Mail Online, The Mirror, The Daily Express, South Yorkshire Live (The Examiner), Sheflive, and Shefnews.
I am currently an intern for The Lord Mayor, Jayne Dunn as I create copy for events and report. I also was an intern for the second biggest ABC magazine, Muddy Stilettos. Here I worked on PR and marketing and boosted engagement for the Muddy Awards 2024.
I was also an intern at the UK's biggest news agency, SWNS where I pitched ideas, and produced articles.
I currently work on copywriting briefs for Nando's and was recently a stringer for ITV during the general election.
I am seeking a role as a graduate in broadcast journalism, although I am open to many opportunities as I love new challenges too.
If you have any upcoming opportunities please get in touch with me at:

“Maddie is one of the most intuitive young journalists I've worked with in a while. She was incredibly confident on the phone, had a brilliant nose for real-life stories, and she's working really hard to develop her copy. The whole team was thoroughly impressed by her keen attitude and initiative.”
